I'm Steve Kerrigan and I was born and raised in Ohio. My parents live within earshot of K99.1FM. I've worked in Columbus, Ohio for WLVQ (Q-FM96) and hosted a Morning show in Dayton Ohio on WTUE- The "Kerrigan and Christopher Morning Show" with partner Christopher Geisen. We were paired for 12 years. In 1990, we were named "Personalities of the Year" for the Summit Broadcasting Chain. I know it sounds like I'm bragging but actually I'm quite proud of the achievement. Most recently I was doing mornings at a radio station in Fort Wayne IN. I've been active in the communities that I have lived in and with local charities. I served as a co-chair for the MS 150 Bike Tour for 14 years, and was once frozen in a block of ice for two days to raise food for the American Red Cross. I was a member of the Victory Team in Death Valley California for the Century Bike tour for the Juvenile Diabetes Foundation.
Personal Stuff: My radio career has afforded me many opportunities. I have done shows in New York City from Comedy Central, in Las Vegas from the Radio Music Awards, twice from Disney World and once at Universal Studios and Sea World in Florida. I have met some of the biggest names in music and entertainment and truly live the dream everyday.
I attended the University of Dayton, and spent my junior and senior years working for the rock station FM 100 WVUD. I have three children, who are my biggest fans.
Favorite Music: I like older stuff from Jackson Browne, Eagles, country from Tim McGraw, Kenny Chesney and Rascal Flatts.
Hobbies: I'm a huge sports fan. Notre Dame Football and UD basketball are my passions. Love the NFL. My favorite teams are the Bengals in the AFC and The Redskins in the NFC; just don't tell my brother Mike because he works for the Tampa Bay Buccaneers.
I hope to get back to the game of golf. I once enjoyed a 10 handicap. I'm an avid bicyclist now but I used to play high school sports and college basketball.
Heroes: My parents of course for their continued love and support. Lance Armstrong who's drive and determination has transcended his success in sports to inspire hundreds of thousands of cancer patients to LIVESTRONG everyday. His story has truly helped me through some trying times.
What others are saying
- Good thoughtsSteve,
Had been a while since I was online and able to see some post wanted to let you know we still are thinking of you and wish you well. Miss you in the am - Best wishesSteve, I miss hearing you in the morning as I get ready for work.I pray for your recovery. I was just told three weeks ago I have cancer. I`m undergoing chemo and radiation. It`s a scary time but we won`t let this dreaded disease get us down. Take care.
- Dear Kerrigan,
Just want to let you know that my thoughts are with you during this very trying time for you and your family. I have been a hugh fan of yours since your days on TUE. I loved listening to "Kerringan and Christopher". The show was excellent. My favorite memories are from the two of you talking about "Sex" the dog. I can't remember whose dog it was but I would be driving down the road laughing so hard, I'm sure people thought I was totally crazy. But I was truly bummed out when the show went off the air. I never listen to that other morning show that TUE has on now. I didn't know that you used to work at the "Q". I switched to listening to "Wags and Elliott" morning show. They are almost as funny as you and Christopher. You must have worked there many years ago, because Was and Elliott have been on a number of years. But anyway, thanks to my daughter who is a hugh country music fan I found out you were on K99 morning show, I really haven't had that much of a chance to hear you on K99, but hopefully in the near future you will be able to get back on the air. God Bless you and your family and never give up fighting. - thougths and prayers for YOU and A CUREI think about you daily just as I do my husband, who was diagnosed with leukemia only a few short months ago. I send you strength to keep fighting the battle and to continue on the journey. We, too, have children who I hope end up strong in the end for having to go through this with us. It is a journey for the whole family and those around us giving support and love. Blood cancer is such a hard battle, but we all can win it if we join together and stay positive, which on some days is so hard to do. I give you hope, strength, and courage!
- youGood Morning, I hope you are feeling better. It makes me feel very good when I'm able to donate blood to your cause. My thoughts and prayers are with you. Keep the faith!!
- In our Thoughts and PrayersDear Steve, My family's thoughts and prayers are with you. I have added you to my prayer chain at Church. I know what is it like to be sick. - Stay strongDear Steve, I am so sorry you are still dealing with your cancer. I too have been through cancer treatment for the last 2 yrs and recently it had gone to my brain but I put it all in God's hands & the drugs I'm on now have reduced the brain tumors from 45 to 3 and reduced the size of most of my other tumors too! Praise God!!! My cancer is not curable - or so they say, but with God all things are possible. Stay strong, Jeremiah 29:11. You're in my prayers Steve. God Bless you.
- Get well soonSteve, Prayers for you to get well soon. I used to listed to WTUE when you were on with Christopher and all the way till they took on another morning team in which I still won't listen to. I would rather listen to you on TUE than any rock radio giant here in Cincy. Godspeed Steve

- Pink WarriorDear Steve,
I've read about your battle with cancer and am a cancer warrior also. Godspeed to you my friend! I wanted to tell you about a special song and a special event that happens right here in Ohio. I had the opportunity to recently meet in person an up-and-coming country star by the name of Candy Coburn. She has a single out right now called "Pink Warrior" and all the proceeds go to the Komen Foundation for breast cancer research. I was able to get several autographed copies of her CD single and plan to use them at our event called "Hooves For A Cure" that takes place at Caesars Creek horseman's camp this year on October 3rd. Last year, we had 57 riders and we raised over $2,000.00! These rides take place all over the nation, and the grand total last year was $10,000.00! We can do it again this year and hope to raise even more. Please, if you can, play Candy's single. It will mean a lot to all of us "Pink Warriors" out there who are fighting to end this horrible disease. Thanks! :) - You are a SurvivorI too am a Breast Cancer survivor 2007. You defeated the odds, which is an inspiration to all of us, thanks you. Keep that positive attitude and hang in there.
- Steve KerriganDear Steve,
Sorry to hear of your illness.
Hang in there, and check out my topic some time, when you get a chance.
Sounds like country music already supports my option.
What would it hurt? - Steve KerriganDear Steve, You are an inspiration to me and all cancer survivors. I had thyroid cancer in 2000. You and Christopher were the highlight of my day on TUE - and it is so wonderful that you came back home to Dayton Radio.
We really missed you!! My church and I are praying for you - keep the faith! - Steve KerriganMy wife was at the James 10 years ago - chemo and stem cell transplant - and she is still going strong! Not a Country fan but remember you from WTUE - actually met you several times as my company worked in the building - to get to the roof you had to go through the FM studio. Good luck!!!
