Let's start from the beginning, shall we? I was born in a little town in Ohio. Zanesville's claim to fame is the "Y"-Bridge. Yes, you can go to the middle of the bridge and take a left or a right. It's really confusing for tourists. :) I came to the Dayton area in 1992, and attended college at Wright State... GO RAIDERS! My first radio experience was a summer off from college, when I went back home and worked for the local station there. I was running the board for Reds games and hosting a request show. (I was AWFUL at it!)

My first experience with Cox Radio Dayton was the following year, when I became an intern in the Creative Services Department. I wrote commercials, and learned a ton about the behind-the-scenes radio world. Then, I came back to Cox again, after college, and worked part-time as a night news writer. During the day, I was working a split at a station in Xenia, so needless to say, that point in my life was a complete blur. Did I sleep? I don't know, I can't remember! (Am I boring you, yet?) Then I was promoted to morning anchor at WHIO-AM. Loved the job, but me? A morning person? Not so much. I then took a five year jaunt down to Cinci, won an Edward R. Murrow Award, and then (Yippee!!) I came back here to work for K99.1 FM!

Anywhoooo..... as part of my new duties, the boss said, "Well, Rachel, you can either do a Public Affairs show, or try some shifts on K." So I jumped at the chance for a new challenge, and here I am! I LOVE IT! I am so digging the country, too! I especially like the female artists, Sugarland, Taylor Swift, the Wreckers, and many, many others. I'm also a bluegrass fan, and (gasp) I also like hip-hop.

Otherwise, about me: I have a four-year-old little magical man. He is wonderful, funny, and, of course, the smartest kid on the planet. He also cheats like nobody's business when we play Candy Land! He he he! I have three cats. (Three too many!) They generally shed all over the house, and find new and interesting places to leave me "presents." Ick!

In my spare time (what spare time?) I am a video game geek. Right now, I'm into "Pirates of the Caribbean" online. I'm also in the market for a Wii! I gotta have it!! Lately, I've also been slightly celebrity obsessed. I'm always checking out the celebrity blogs to see what the poor Britney has gotten herself into this time. I also love to read, Dean Koontz, Stephen King, and so many more!

The Phillipsburg fire department will be doing our 2010 MDA fill the boot benefit today at the intersection of SR 49 and Main street in Phillipsburg from 3 pm to 7 pm. Just wondering if it was possible to spread the word. It would be greatly appreciated.
