Make way for another little rascal: Joe Don Rooney and wife Tiffany Fallon are expecting their second child, he tells PEOPLE exclusively.

"We're a little more prepared but the same excitement is there," the Rascal Flatts guitarist says of baby No. 2. The couple are already parents to 21-month-old son Jagger Donovan. "There's such fulfillment in being a father and it's going to be two-fold now, which is so cool."

Fallon, 35, who is due in September, told Rooney, 34, that she was pregnant when they were staying in the same Los Angeles hotel where he learned they were expecting Jagger.

"It was late January and we were out by the pool chilling and she said, 'I have something to show you,' and she opened her purse and pulled out the stick with the positive sign," he says. "I was like 'Wow! We're going to have to stop coming to this hotel. We'll have 16 of these things before long!' But life just couldn't get better."

The couple are preparing Jagger for the idea of a new sibling, "but he doesn't quite understand yet," Rooney says. "I pray with him every night and we pray for his brother- or sister-to-be."

Mom and dad are eager to prepare as well, and plan to find out the sex of the baby. "Tiff's all about decorating rooms, so she's got to know. She's got to prepare the nest," says Rooney, who is betting on a girl while Fallon suspects it's a boy.

The one element that might prove tricky? Making sure Rooney is present to greet his new son or daughter.

"I'll be on tour this September and the Rascal Flatts machine is not stopping for anybody," he says. "But I have to be there. I'll rent a jet or something if I have to!"

Brad Paisley Takes a Tumble During Final Night of Tour

Brad Paisley wrapped up his American Saturday Night tour with a bang in Charleston, S.C. Saturday night. He was at the tail end of performing his encore finale, 'Alcohol,' when he tripped on stage and fell, slamming into the stage set ... all the while keeping a tight grip on his guitar. He got up, waved goodbye to the crowd, went backstage and was promptly taken to a local hospital by ambulance.

Doctors checked Brad out, and the performer even received a CAT scan to make sure nothing was broken, as he reportedly felt like he had broken a rib. He was released early Sunday morning with only some bad bruises (and possibly a bit of a bruised ego!).

The 37-year-old kept fans updated with several tweets, even posting a photo of himself consulting with doctors, joking that they told him he "was a very brave boy." Wife Kimberly Williams Paisley, worried about her husband, wrote on her Twitter page, "Praying for my husband tonight. Hope he didn't hurt himself too badly. I love that clumsy clown." Once she knew he was going to be okay, Kim asked if anyone had a video of the fall, and her request was fulfilled via YouTube.com.

The West Virginia native has a few days to recover at home in Nashville before heading to Reliant Stadium for his show at the Houston Livestock Show and Rodeo on March 11.

Brad may want to put a few safety precautions in place before he kicks off his upcoming H20 trek this summer.

Tim's co-star in the film, Sandra Bullock, is also nominated for Best Actress and is considered a frontrunner in the category.

"We're very excited about going to the Oscars," Tim said this week on ABC's 'Good Morning America.' "Faith's going to be there, and we've got a lot of friends who we are looking forward to seeing. It's going to be fun ... It's nice to go with a movie that's nominated and a co-star that's nominated. It's a new experience for me."

The Oscars will air live from Los Angeles, this Sunday, March 7 at 8:00 PM ET on ABC.

Kenny Chesney Takes Steve Miller to Tootsies!

Celebrity sighting alert! Country superstar Kenny Chesney surprised patrons at Nashville's legendary Tootsie's Orchid Lounge Tuesday night for an impromptu concert with rock legend Steve Miller.

The mini-show happened just after the two taped 'CMT Crossroads - The Steve Miller Band and Kenny Chesney' at the Ryman Auditorium, which sits just up the hill from Tootsies. The show, which had Steve and Kenny singing some of each other's biggest hits, will air later this year on CMT.

"If you're at the Ryman ... and you want to do it the way the old Opry stars did, everybody knows it was out the back door of the Ryman, cross the ally and sneak in the back door of Tootsies. Kristofferson drank there, and Willie. Hank Williams, Patsy Cline. If I was gonna show my friend what this experience was all about -- especially after a night as great as our 'Crossroads' taping had been ... then we had to do Tootsies!"

Word of the mini-concert spread fast, and the lounge was jam-packed when Kenny and Steve performed 'Fly Like An Eagle,' 'Jet Airliner,' 'Rock 'n Me' and 'Abracadabra.'

After singing Steve's famous hits, Kenny and Steve led the crowd in a rendition of 'Happy Birthday,' to celebrate the 50th anniversary of Tootsie's.

NEW YORK, NY (March 2, 2010) - Nominations were announced today for the 45th ANNUAL ACADEMY OF COUNTRY MUSIC AWARDS, a star-studded event produced for television by dick clark productions broadcast LIVE from the MGM Grand Garden Arena in Las Vegas on Sunday, April 18 at 8:00 PM live ET/delayed PT on the CBS Television Network.

Country super stars Reba McEntire and Blake Shelton read the nominations live this morning during CBS' The Early Show broadcast from New York City. As previously announced, Reba McEntire will return for an unprecedented 12th time to host this year's show.

For the third year, fans will select the winner of the Academy's most prestigious honor, Entertainer of the Year and for the second year, the three newcomer categories for the annual Academy of Country Music Awards --Top New Solo Vocalist, Top New Vocal Group and Top New Vocal Duo -- will also be opened up to fan voting. The winner in each Top New category will then move on to compete for Top New Artist which is also a fan voted category. Online voting for all fan voted categories will be available at www.voteACM.com. The winners of Entertainer of the Year and Top New Artist will be announced live during the 45th Annual Academy of Country Music Awards.

This morning Lady Antebellum led with seven nominations, including Album of the Year for Lady Antebellum and Top Vocal Group. In addition, Lady Antebellum was nominated for Single Record of the Year, Song of the Year and Video of the Year for "Need You Now." They were also nominated as a producer for Single Record of the Year and as a composer for Song of the Year.

Miranda Lambert is nominated for six awards, including Album of the Year for Revolution and Top Female Vocalist. Lambert won the 2007 Album of the Year for Crazy Ex-Girlfriend. She is nominated for Single Record of the Year and as an artist and composer for Song of the Year for "White Liar," which is also nominated for Video of the Year.

Carrie Underwood is nominated for six awards, including Entertainer of Year. Underwood is the reigning Entertainer of the Year, and, if she wins that category again, she will be the first female in Academy history to capture two Entertainer of the Year trophies. Underwood is also nominated as an artist and composer for Song of the Year for "Cowboy Casanova," as well as Vocal Event of the Year for "I Told You So" with Randy Travis. In addition, Underwood is nominated for Top Female Vocalist and Album of the Year for Play On. If she wins Top Female Vocalist, it will be the fourth consecutive year she has won the category. Underwood also won the 2006 Album of the Year for Some Hearts.

Taylor Swift is nominated for five awards, including her first nod for Entertainer of the Year. If Swift wins Entertainer of the Year, she will be the eighth female in Academy history to win in this category. Swift is nominated as an artist and composer for Song of the Year for "You Belong With Me," for which she is also nominated for Video of the Year and she also received a nomination for Top Female Vocalist.

Kenny Chesney is nominated for four awards, including Entertainer of the Year and Top Male Vocalist. If he wins Entertainer of the Year, it will be his fifth win in the category. He is currently one of only 3 acts in Academy history to achieve four wins for Entertainer of the Year. He is also nominated as an artist and producer for Vocal Event of the Year for "I'm Alive" with multi-platinum recording artist Dave Matthews.

Brad Paisley is nominated for four awards, including Entertainer of the Year and Top Male Vocalist. Paisley is the reigning Top Male Vocalist, and, if Paisley wins the category, it will be his fourth consecutive Top Male Vocalist title. Paisley is also nominated for Album of the Year for American Saturday Night and for Video of the Year for "Welcome to the Future." Paisley won the 2005 Album of the Year for Time Well Wasted.

Zac Brown Band is nominated for four awards including Entertainer of the Year, their first nomination in the category. If Zac Brown Band wins Entertainer of the Year they will be the third vocal group in Academy history ever to win the award. Zac Brown Band is also nominated for Album of the Year for The Foundation, Single Record of the Year for "Toes," and Top Vocal Group. They are the reigning Top New Vocal Group.

Zac Brown of Zac Brown Band also received two additional individual nominations as the producer for both Album of the Year for The Foundation and Single Record of the Year for "Toes."

Also, in its ninth year, the Academy of Country Music/The Home Depot Humanitarian Award will be given to Montgomery Gentry for their ongoing community service and charitable giving of their time and talent. The award recognizes country music artists who serve others, have a generous spirit and help build the dreams of those in need.

Members of the Academy of Country Music select the nominees and winners of the ACADEMY OF COUNTRY MUSIC AWARDS, and select the final top eight nominees of the Entertainer of the Year category (up from the previously selected five) and the top three nominees in newcomer categories, Top Solo Vocalist, Top New Vocal Group and Top New Vocal Duo (different from last year's categories of Top New Female Vocalist, Top New Male Vocalist and Top New Vocal Duo or Group). Presenters and performers who will appear at the ceremony will be announced at a later date.

Oklahoma country music star Blake Shelton is releasing his new album, titled "Hillbilly Bone," March 2.

But it's not just going to be the same old CD from the Ada native: Shelton is giving the people what they want. He has announced that his new release will be a value-priced album featuring six new songs.

"I talk to my fans every day and the first question they ask me is, 'When are you going to release a new record?'" says Shelton in a news release.  "I want to give my fans new music more often and at a lower price. The fact that people will be able to get the new music for less money is a gift to my fans who have been behind me every step of the way."

The Tishomingo resident's last studio album was 2008's "Startin' Fires."

Nashville, TN - Superstar duo Brooks & Dunn made a special appearance today during the Country Radio Seminar in Nashville to announce that the final show on their upcoming concert trek, The Last Rodeo Tour, will be Brooks & Dunn and Friends, a benefit concert for the Country Music Hall of Fame® and Museum. Set to take place at Nashville's Bridgestone Arena on August 10, with special guests to be announced, the show will mark the concert culmination of the duo's groundbreaking 20-year career.

In sharing the news, Brooks & Dunn offered this statement: "For several years, we have tossed around ideas for the best way to make a contribution to the Museum. We have a tremendous appreciation for the road that was traveled by the great stars that came before us. Their long nights in station wagons with instruments strapped on the roofs built an industry that allowed us to cruise around in big tour buses. Our last show together will certainly be a historic point in our lives and careers, and we feel it's only right that the proceeds from this concert go to a place where all history in our business is so reverently preserved."

"The enormity of this gesture, including the endorsement it implies and the example it sets, is something the Museum's board and staff will contemplate with gratitude for a very long time," said Museum Director Kyle Young. Ticket price for the Nashville show will be $25 (plus convenience fee). The show will be produced by Brian O'Connell on behalf of Live Nation.

Alternating selected dates on The Last Rodeo Tour will be Jason Aldean (on most shows through June13), with Gary Allan on board for the remaining dates. Tyler Dickerson will be opening throughout the tour. Guests for the Nashville show will be announced at a later date.

The tour follows last year's release of Brooks & Dunn's career-spanning double-disc collection, #1s ... and then some, which features 30 favorites in all, including an amazing 23 #1 hits.

Rascal Flatts makes an appearance on the March 4 episode of the CBS drama "CSI: Crime Scene Investigation" with Jay DeMarcus bloodied in the plot. "I don't wanna give too much of the storyline away," he says, "but from the commercial, you can tell there's an attempt on my life and it happens during one of our live shows. And the story continues from there. We don't know who's done it, but it could be [Joe Don Rooney or Gary LeVox], it could be my manager. Brad Paisley appears on "The Tonight Show" on Monday. Lots of stars make the rounds on the talk shows, so that's not particularly unusual -- except that this is the first night that Jay Leno will be back in his old timeslot after NBC's ill-fated decision to move him into prime time last year. So Brad's doing one for the history books. Here's another bit of trivia for TV buffs: Who was the last country artist to sing on "The Tonight Show" during the Conan O'Brien era? That would be... In a first look at Carrie Underwood's guest-starring role on How I Met Your Mother, the country star puckers up and smooches a teacup pig!  
 
Underwood, who donned a flight attendant's uniform as part of her time on set playing Tiffany, an enigmatic pharmaceutical sales rep and love interest for Ted (played by Josh Radnor), wrote on her Web site that the pig popped on her.
 
"I'm just glad I grew up on a farm," Underwood said, "because I think I was the only one who knew how to hold and wasn't afraid of a little piglet!"
 
In the episode, which is set to air in March, Radnor asks her, "Were you always this pretty?"
Underwood's answer: "I was shy and awkward [in high school]. I was like 100 lbs. heavier and had these crazy buck teeth."
 
"Seriously?" he asks.
 
"No, I've always been hot," she says. "What are you going to do?"
When Radnor leans in for a kiss, Underwood stops him by saying, "Do you know who else would love this teacup pig ... my boyfriend."

Garth BrooksThe next set of Garth Brooks' concerts dates at the Wynn Las Vegas Encore Theater have been set. Dates for the exclusive and intimate performances include March 26-28, April 9-11, June 25-27, July 16-18 and August 6-8. Showtimes are 8:00 PM each night with a second performance at 10:30 PM on Saturdays. And just like the shows he's already performed up to this point, fans never know just what to expect!

After his two-hour performance on Feb. 12, Garth went backstage to have dinner. A stagehand soon approached the singer to tell him that the crowd wasn't leaving -- they were still right where he left them, clamoring for an encore. And that's just what he gave them. He returned to the stage with his guitar and offered an additional 45-minute performance.

"I've never seen anything like it in my career," Garth said later.

Jennifer Nettles' Olympic Workout: Go for the ... Popcorn

All those Olympic athletes at the Winter Games in Vancouver are working their butts off going for the gold. Sugarland has already done its Olympic duty, contributing a new song called "Wide Open" to the AT&T Team USA Soundtrack, but the duo hasn't gone to Canada to be part of the big event. Instead, Jennifer Nettles has spent gobs of time on her mother's couch "with a bag of kettle corn," she told The Wall Street Journal.

Have no doubt: Sugarland was completely immersed in the drama of the Games when she and Kristian Bush wrote "Wide Open."

"We had a lot of dialogue about what it must be like to be an Olympian," she said. "We allowed the verses to be the moments when you're just about to compete -- you're on the platform of the ski jump and you have worked your entire life to get there with years and years of training and what must that feel like in that moment? And the choruses are a super-big release of when you're celebrating and the joy of what it is you love to do most and do best. So we really explored those two different moments -- right before the go and right after the go."

"Wide Open" isn't the only specialty project they've been involved in. Sugarland took part in recording the new version of "We Are The World" -- Jennifer harmonizes with Josh Groban during the first verse -- but the duo has even more recording on its schedule. Jennifer and Kristian are at work on their fourth album.

"It might be its own Olympic sport," she said of the creative process. "It feels like a combination of bungee jumping and eating chocolate cake all at the same time. It is both terrifying and extremely gratifying in the same moment -- terrifying in that as artists and writers we are constantly pushing ourselves to grow."

They may be experiencing some tension with their record company. She alluded to some behind-the-scenes "resistance" to the direction they're taking.

"They want things to sound the same because they know how to market that," Jennifer said. "But that's their job and problem. Ours is to make the best record we can and serve the songs as best we can, and that is extremely gratifying."

For now, the duo has plenty of time to iron out the project. Sugarland has no tour dates on its schedule until the end of April.

02.18.2010 - Jason Aldean, Lady Antebellum, Martina McBride, Reba McEntire, Brad Paisley, Rascal Flatts, Darius Rucker, Keith Urban , and Zac Brown Band along with the previously announced Carrie Underwood are the first artists of 2010 to join a legendary group of acts who have performed at CMA Music Festival, which began as Fan Fair in 1972.  Here's a behind the scenes interview with Jason Aldean from last year.

 

 

More than 2,000 Country acts, including the superstars of the format, have lent their time and talent to the event over the decades. It is a legacy that began 39 years ago with legends including Chet Atkins, Waylon Jennings, Loretta Lynn, Dolly Parton, and Tammy Wynette thanking fans at the Municipal Auditorium in Nashville.

The Festival is an annual touchstone that connects the most ardent, passionate performers in the format with the superstars who came before them on behalf of the fans who support them.

CMA Music Festival is a unique celebration of the relationship between Country Music artists and their fans in the heart of Music City USA. The artists participate for free, and in appreciation, CMA donates half the net proceeds of the Festival to support music education in Metro Nashville Public Schools through the Keep the Music Playing program.

To date, $3,312,053 has been donated to purchase musical instruments and supplies, providing thousands of Metro Nashville Public Schools students with the resources and opportunities they could not have afforded on their own, and giving many of them a strong reason to remain in school.

2010 CMA Music Festival will be held Thursday through Sunday, June 10-13. Nashville's signature music event features concerts, autograph signings, family activities, and more. 2010 will live up to its lauded reputation with the first list of performers announced for the Nightly Concerts at LP Field:

•Jason Aldean, received his first CMA Award nomination in 2007 for the Horizon Award. A year later, the Award was renamed, the New Artist of the Year and Aldean was nominated in the coveted category once again.

•Lady Antebellum, the reigning CMA Vocal Group of the Year, who has received a total of three CMA Awards.

•Martina McBride, who was named CMA Female Vocalist of the Year four times (1999, 2002-2004) and is tied with McEntire for the most wins in that category. She has a total of five CMA Awards.

•Reba McEntire, a former CMA Entertainer of the Year and four-time Female Vocalist of the Year, who has won a total of six CMA Awards.

•Brad Paisley, the reigning CMA Male Vocalist of the Year (for three consecutive years, 2007-2009), who has received a total of 13 CMA Awards.

•Rascal Flatts, who has won a total of seven CMA Awards, including six consecutive Vocal Group of the Year Awards (2003-2008).

•Darius Rucker, the reigning CMA New Artist of the Year.

•Carrie Underwood, who was named CMA Female Vocalist of the Year for three consecutive years (2006-2008) and has received a total of five CMA Awards.

•Keith Urban, the reigning CMA Musical Event of the Year Award winner (along with Paisley for their duet "Start a Band"). A former Entertainer of the Year (2006), Urban has received a total of six CMA Awards.

•Zac Brown Band, who received their first three CMA nominations in 2009, with lead singer Zac Brown receiving an additional nomination as songwriter.

Underwood was previously announced as a performer for this year's Festival on Feb. 5 after she surprised one her biggest fans, fifteen-year old Riley Ahlstrand, with a phone call. Ahlstrand had written CMA asking if Underwood would be performing at the event this year, and the singer called to personally give her the good news.

"This is an amazing collection of superstar artists who perform a broad spectrum of Country Music styles," said Steve Moore, CMA Chairman of the Board. "Our attendees are going to love the lineup."
