I can't throw this stuff out!

Do you do spring cleaning? I try every year to toss away or give away old clothes ( you should see the old radio t-shirts).Or odds and ends. Like work tapes old tools and stuff that doesn't work but looks to good to throw out like a computer printer. I will throw that out next year.

Outside of clothes, garage stuff, and some odds and ends I was trying to get all my personal things down to just 4 of those big plastic bins from Target. But there was so much stuff and it was taking forever! And while I was going through a dusty old box full of old love notes, pictures, and letters including my first marriage...

My girlfriend Monique keeps everything. Scrap books from high school to Duran Duran posters.Ticket stubs from every event she's attended. I used to do this but I have moved to many times in the past eight years (six times) I going bare bones now.

Anyhow I had seen this story on Oprah of this woman who had hoarded so much stuff in her house she couldn't sit down anywhere including being able to sleep on her own bed! I'm not like that, but it wigged me out enough to go through EVERYTHING of mine in the shed and garage recently. It's tough to throw away some memories like old Albums (records) and radio tapes, pictures of your kids when they were small, but I actually felt like that lady on Oprah when I found a 27 year old collectors Seven UP bottle from the Bengals Super Bowl Season of 1981.

That's the toughest thing about spring cleaning...it's not the physical, but the emotional work sometimes. It can be hard getting rid of items that remind you of your past. And after getting rid of a lot of it and getting the rest of it compressed into those 4 bins.

Again, thanks so much for reading my blogs. I'm kind of new at this...
